چکیده

The fragmentation of one-nucleon knock-out strength at low energies is considered from the viewpoint of the two particle-one hole ~and two holeone particle! response propagator. The aim is to deal with particleparticle ~and hole-hole! as well as particle-hole collectivity simultaneously. This is achieved on a TammDancoff level by the so-called Faddeev approximation of the 2p1h propagator. Results of this approach illustrate the relevance of this consistent treatment of both particle-particle ~hole-hole! and particle-hole collectivity. A further extension, within the framework of 2p1h RPAwhich was sometimes applied in the past, has serious unsolved problems, some of which are discussed in detail.

Response Function of Asymmetric Nuclear Matter

The charge longitudinal response function is examined in the framework of the random-phase approximation in an isospin-asymmetric nuclear matter where proton and neutron densities are di erent. This asymmetry changes the response through both the particle-hole interaction and the free particle-hole polarization propagator. We discuss these two e ects on the response function on the basis of our...

A Self-Consistent Solution to the Nuclear Many-Body Problem at Finite Temperature

The properties of symmetric nuclear matter are investigated within the Green’s functions approach. We have implemented an iterative procedure allowing for a self-consistent evaluation of the single-particle and two-particle propagators. The in-medium scattering equation is solved for a realistic (non-separable) nucleon-nucleon interaction including both particle-particle and hole-hole propagati...

Derivation of Green’s Function of Spin Calogero-Sutherland Model by Uglov’s Method

Hole propagator of spin 1/2 Calogero-Sutherland model is derived using Uglov’s method, which maps the exact eigenfunctions of the model, called Yangian Gelfand-Zetlin basis, to a limit of Macdonald polynomials (gl2-Jack polynomials). To apply this mapping method to the calculation of 1-particle Green’s function, we confirm that the sum of the field annihilation operator ψ̂↑+ ψ̂↓ on Yangian Gelfan...

Faddeev description of two-hole–one-particle motion and the single-particle spectral function

The Faddeev technique is employed to address the problem of describing the influence of both particleparticle and particle-hole phonons on the single-particle self-energy. The scope of the few-body Faddeev equations is extended to describe the motion of two-hole–one-particle ~two-particle–one-hole! excitations. This formalism allows one to sum both particle-particle and particle-hole phonons, o...

Quasiparticles in the Pseudogap Phase of Underdoped Cuprate

Recent angle resolved photoemission [1] and scanning tunneling microscopy [2] measurements on underdoped cuprates have yielded new spectroscopic information on quasiparticles in the pseudogap phase. New features of the normal state such as particle-hole asymmetry, maxima in the energy dispersion and accompanying drops in the spectral weight of quasiparticles agree with the ansatz of Yang et al....
